Deployment of HYDROGRID Insight underway in Mexico, Peru & Brazil, totaling 1.2 GW of optimized generation capacity.

Vienna, May 14, 2025 – HYDROGRID has continued its strategic expansion across Latin America, contracting an additional 1.2 gigawatts (GW) of hydropower assets over the past six months. This latest development reinforces the company’s growing presence in the region, marked by the deployment of its flagship platform, HYDROGRID Insight in Mexico, Peru and further expanding their presence in Brazil.

HYDROGRID is enhancing direct support to local operations teams through the implementation of advanced water management strategies. These include proactive spillage minimization and predictive production planning — core functionalities of HYDROGRID Insight — designed to optimize hydropower output and reduce resource loss, ultimately contributing to increased renewable energy generation.

Focused Deployment, Measurable Results

HYDROGRID Insight offers an integrated approach to hydropower operations, combining inflow forecasting, real-time dispatch optimization, and automated handling of environmental and regulatory constraints. With its modular architecture and API-based integration, the platform fits seamlessly into existing systems and scales from small plants to multi-GW portfolios exceeding.

In current deployments across Latin America, operators are already achieving more efficient use of water resources, improved production accuracy, and increased transparency in daily operations. In particular, by guiding short and long-term dispatch decisions within operational limits, HYDROGRID Insight helps producers maximize energy output by reducing spillage and optimizing maintenance timing.

“Latin America is a key hydropower region, with a growing need for solutions that can bring greater efficiency and resilience to water-dependent energy systems,” said Janice Goodenough, CEO of HYDROGRID. “With HYDROGRID Insight, operators gain a comprehensive digital toolset to manage daily operations, meet environmental and regulatory targets, and improve revenue outcomes.”

Strengthening Regional Presence

The Latin American expansion forms part of HYDROGRID’s broader international growth strategy, with the company now actively supporting clients across Europe, Americas, and Asia. In May, HYDROGRID facilitates deployment both online and on-site, with the latest on-site visits under way in May.
